Board readies for first meeting

Enrollment at Missouri Southern should hold steady at a 3 percent increase, the University's president will tell its Board of Governors Friday.

In his "Notes from the Prez" forwarded to the Board this week, Dr. Bruce Speck cites that number, tells the Board that the new Health Sciences Building has a "WOW" factor, and says he expects a successful football season begining next week.

Based on documents provided to the media this week, the Board will also hear that Southernn's unrestriced cash on hand was up nearly $5.5 million at the end of fiscal year 2010 from the year before. The figures are preliminary and unaudited. The amout dipped a bit during the current fiscal year, which bagan July 1. The reports show a current cash balance of $12,098,691.

Attached is the Board packet released to the media this week. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Board Room (310) of the Billinglsy Student Center.
