Biology Pond concerns Senate

Senate ended its Feb. 1 meeting with concern for the Biology Pond's transformation into an oriental garden. Kristen Duwe, Senate secretary, informed Senate that workers have already started cutting down trees at the pond and expressed concern for the habitat.

Governor recommends increased appropriation

Residence directors add to Blaine, McCormick visiting hours

Local children participate in Legacy Day

Graduates gathered on Jan. 28 to give children an opportunity to explore what Missouri Southern has to offer. Elisa Bryant, alumni director coordinator for the Alumni Association, planned and managed the event which lasted from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. "[Legacy Day] is for all graduates of Missouri Southern," Bryant said.

Contest hopes to name new software project

Organization plays active role in Joplin

Joplin is adding a local National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (Norml) to the list of its many organizations. Kelly Maddy, president of the Joplin chapter of Norml, said he started the organization last November after being in charge of the annual Cannabis Revival at Shifferdecker Park.

Speech, debate squad sends two toward quarterfinal matches The Missouri Southern Speech and Debate Squad competed in the Annual Gorlock Gala Debate tournament from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29 at Webster University. In the Lincoln-Douglas debate, sophomores Michael Baca and Dylan Slagal qualified for elimination rounds.
