Several years ago, Missouri Southern's Robert W. Plaster School of Business decided there was a need to offer its graduates more than a bachelor's degree. They wanted to offer their graduates an edge in the job market. Dr. Richard Rawlins, professor of finance and economics, decided to pursue certification as a Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
Last semester Missouri Southern and Southeast Missouri State University brought a dental hygiene program to southeast Missouri. To commemorate the Distance Dental Hygiene Program shared by the two universities, a dedication was held Jan. 31. The ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted at the SEMSU campus in Sikeston at 4 p.
Hard work paid off for four respiratory therapy students when they won the American Association for Respiratory Care's national academic bowl in December. Dale Benfield, Charity Ezell, Albert "Sonny" Glover and Sherry Whiteman competed in the "Sputum Bowl" in Orlando, Fla.
