A show focusing on the local area's unique towns and what they have to offer is in the makings.
Michael "Woody" Woodruff, junior mass communications major, is currently the writer, editor, camera man and director.
"I am by trade a film student and have made many things for my daughter," he said. "I decided to increase my span and that's when the idea came to me."
Kisa Clark, senior mass communications major, will be the host of the show and has always wanted to do this.
"I love watching Sandra Brown on TLC it is what I want to do and with this show I am gaining the experience," said Clark. "I will gain more experience with a campus TV show and it will be a lot of fun."
The show will feature places with unique features like Pittsburg, Joplin and Neosho. The pilot will air in the spring and will feature Neosho and its beautiful park.
"We are waiting till it gets nicer, before we begin taping," Woodruff said. "Once the pilot episode is shot and the show is approved we will shoot three to four more episodes for the year."
Woodruff continued to say that it will be a 30- minute segment on KGCS.
Clark and Woodruff are holding a production meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Room 139 of Webster Hall.
A production coordinator is a key person needed for this show to survive. Woodruff explained that they will be in charge of calling the towns and doing the research. A boom operator and a graphics designer are needed as well.
"They are going to get screen credit which is great for going on resumes," said Woodruff. "While not paid the benefit outweighs that."
They also wanted people to know that you do not need to be a professional in order to help out, it is a learning experience for everyone involved.
